Boeing Gifts $250k to Support Math Education

On October 9th, 2026, the Renton Schools Foundation had the honor of receiving $250,000 from the Boeing company to enhance math education and learning in classrooms across the district.
"With this grant, we hope to deepen instructional practices, build teacher capacity and create classrooms where students feel confident sharing their ideas and making sense of mathematics" - Alisha Benonaih-Jumbo, Math Lab & Math Intervention Planning Facilitator
Boeing has been a long-time partner of the Renton Schools Foundation and Renton School District, with this year marking the company's fifth consecutive gift for student success and math education. Support from Boeing has contributed to increasing learning rates in Renton—meaning Renton students are showing growth at a higher rate than most districts of similar size.
"Students' steady incremental growth in math proficiency over the past several years shows that this improvement doesn't happen overnight; that's why Boeing's sustained support is so important. We are excited to continue this partnership to make a difference for students and teachers." - Bob Ettinger, Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment.
Thanks to Boeing's support, Renton educators can sustain and grow their teaching practices, and it is deeply rewarding to see a new generation of students move forward with the skills they need to thrive in their chosen pathways.
