On December 17, Tiffany Park Elementary School’s LEGO League robotics team, comprised of 4th and 5th graders, presented their projects to a panel of judges and an audience of parents. The student's named their team "LEGO Ambush!"
One group showcased a hand-crafted model, designed to eliminate pollution and toxic waste in the ocean. The second group utilized their programming skills to show a live demonstration of LEGO robots completing tasks.
After meeting for several months, the team developed strong collaborative and problem-solving skills, demonstrating resilience. One of the team’s advisors, John Paul, shared, “Success was achieved and failure was overcome.” The Renton Schools Foundation is proud to support this robotics team, as it nurtures student growth in the areas of innovation, engineering, and programming.
When asked why they joined robotics, a student replied:
“I love to solve problems and share them with other people.”
Another student mentioned their enjoyment of teamwork, stating:
“When you don’t know one piece of the puzzle, another team member helps get that piece for you."
