RSF has granted funds for all secondary theatrical performances. Previously, the foundation has provided Lindbergh's Drama Club with boxes and platforms used in past productions. Club advisor Kieran Hunter shares that

the support received from RSF has helped students feel less like the underdogs of the school, knowing that there is a group to support their club financially and contribute to their growth.

Starting off this year’s performances, in the past week, Lindbergh’s Drama Club students performed their 4th Annual Winter Showcase, consisting of a larger one-act play and three acts directed by their seniors:

  • Sure Thing! By David Ives – Directed by Kai Wespestad

  • Gasp, Farrah, and Monster by Jose Cruz Gonzalez – Directed by Zaiba Ahmad

  • The Job Interview by Don Zolidis – Directed by Kayden Correa

  • The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon by Don Zolidis

Drama club serves a greater purpose than just an after school club. For these students, it is a place where students can express their creativity and find a sense of belonging within a community that fosters an environment that will support their future. Co-president Kayden Correa shares that being part of drama club has allowed them to transform from an insecure, shy freshman into an outgoing, confident senior that can manage the crowd on stage. Kayden also noted that their experiences in drama has “pulled [them] out of [their] shell,” helping prepare them for their goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Not only that, drama club is a place where students inspire one another to grow as individuals. Co-president Kai Wespestad tells RSF that they have made unforgettable friendships and learned valuable lessons through the club, sharing that “now [they] want to be that senior who can welcome people and offer a safe space,” just as club alumni once did for Kai.

Lastly, Ashlynn, a sophomore in drama club shares an empowering message, “Don’t be afraid of joining [drama] even if you don’t feel like you can do it, you definitely can,” highlighting that there are many roles on and off stage for anyone, no matter their confidence level.
